Police Clearance
If you have any one-on-one contact with vulnerable groups a police clearance is now required.
One-on-one contact is when you are either rescuing or transporting an animal from a household, school, nursing home or where you have any contact with vulnerable groups. This also applies when answering the phone for SANAR.
Vulnerable groups are children, the elderly, or people with disability.
Members do not pay for this process, and it is treated in the strictest confidence.
The police clearance certificate is your property and only needs to be sighted by an authorised person of SANAR.
The only information that SANAR will keep will be the date that the certificate was given. Any charges that are not relevant to animal care or working with vulnerable groups will not affect your membership status or be disclosed.
Friend Of Membership (Non-Active Member)
As a Friend of Member, if you wish to help (non-animal related), there are many different areas we have available.
Friend of Members will receive our Newsletter which comes out every 3 months and can attend our training workshops. Your yearly membership fee is vital to maintaining the care we can give to wildlife in need.
